Dr. Amanda Vaught
I am a Stanford University and Veteran’s Affairs trained clinical psychologist who specializes both weight management and Veteran’s health. I received my undergraduate degree, in psychology, at Villanova University and my graduate degree in clinical psychology at the PGSP—Stanford Psy.D. Consortium.  I recently completed my pre-doctoral internship at the VA Gulf Coast Health Care System and have accepted a post-doctoral fellowship focusing on PTSD and trauma at the Southeast Louisiana VA Health Care System, which begins fall 2012.  My specific interests focus on women’s health and wellness, stress and weight management, the implications of trauma on health and well-being, and factors that promote resilience.  My practice is based on an evidence-based, interpersonal approach to wellness that incorporates tenants of both mindfulness and positive psychology. The goal is to promote an individual’s confidence in their ability to effectively navigate and overcome life stressors, by fostering and strengthening interpersonal relationships.  I have provided consultation and workshops both within the VA and the community on professional boundaries, team building, stress and weight management, and life after a divorce.   I am excited to be a member of WOW and to reach other organizations in the greater community.
